There is always someone watching

I have written this post for so long. I have had a hard time wrapping my brain around what to post next but here it is!     How many times have we questioned what is happening in our lives?  How many times do we get upset and frustrated when things are going on that we cannot understand?  Sometimes things happen in order to make us better people, better friends, better spouses, better employees, just better everything. We often times don’t see this in the present and it’s hard for us to even think about the future but we have to remember that there is a power above us that can get us through every situation and knows what’s going to happen even before it does. We also have to remember that there are people who are watching, those who are seeing our stories are testimonies of our day and we owe it to ourselves and them to show them something that will help them to also grow and become who they are destined to be.      So many times we loo...

A little over two weeks ago, I was at the annual TEPSA(Texas Elementary Principals, and Supervisors Association) conference and I went to a session that I thought at first was a little different but in the end, I really understood the actual message about self-care. How many times do we forget to take time for ourselves? How many times do we say we don't have enough time do anything extra out of our normal same old boring day?       In a lifetime, the average person spends about 33% of their life sleeping. So, if you live to be 75 years old, you would spend about 25 years sleeping.   Isn't that crazy????? I found it quite insane myself.    So, I guess I will get back to my point of this post.   We only have 1 life to live, so we have to live our lives with intention.      How many of us can intentionally commit to doing something that we love or that will help us to grow as a leader, as a friend, as a wife,...

Exactly 3 years ago today, I was given the opportunity to become the Assistant Principal at Brule Elementary. Today I end year 3 and look forward to the amazing things ahead in year 4. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love my job. There have been lots of highs, lows, ups, and downs, but I wouldn’t trade a thing because every bit of it has helped me to continue to blossom into the leader that I want to be. There is absolutely nothing I wouldn’t do for the kids and staff at Brule and since I have received the Brule Boa Award, which is given to someone who adds value to the school, every year as AP, I am thinking that the staff feels the same. I am so grateful for all the parents who continue to trust me with their children and staff who have continued to help me to grow into the great leader that I continue to strive to be. Here ‘s to Year 4!  #bruleboas #theassistantchronicles
